Gender Equality and Social Inclusion(GESI)

It was a pleasure for the Grapes of New Hope team to participate in the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) training conducted by Ms. Mbabazi Henriet, Programs Manager at Woord en Daad, who was accompanied by Mr. Belmost Ongom, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant. Woord en Daad is our valued partner under the LEAD Uganda Project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the Netherlands.

The training was attended by the Grapes of New Hope implementation team together with a representative from the Board of Directors, Martin Nkoy Beele, the chairperson. The sessions were highly interactive, practical, and participatory, providing valuable insights into the principles and application of gender equality and social inclusion in community development programs.

The training strengthened participants’ understanding of how to integrate gender equality and social inclusion across all stages of project implementation. It highlighted the importance of ensuring that women, men, youth, persons with disabilities, refugees, and other vulnerable groups have equal opportunities to participate in and benefit from development interventions.

The knowledge and skills gained from this training will significantly benefit Grapes of New Hope by enhancing the team’s capacity to design, implement, and monitor inclusive programs that leave no one behind. The training will also contribute to stronger community engagement, improved project effectiveness, and more sustainable development outcomes.

Grapes of New Hope sincerely appreciates Ms. Mbabazi Henriet, Mr. Belmost Ongom, Woord en Daad, and the LEAD Uganda Project for this valuable learning opportunity. The lessons learned will continue to guide the organization in promoting equity, inclusion, and meaningful community transformation. #everyone #humanity #uganda #ngos #refugees #development #empowerment #economic #change
