Grapes of New Hope Graduates from U-Learn Uganda’s AAPA Mentorship Program

On March 5th, 2026, Grapes of New Hope (GNH) proudly completed a 6-month mentorship journey under the U-Learn Uganda Accountability to Affected Populations in Action (AAPA) Program, graduating during the 6th Graduation Ceremony of Cohort #8 held at Golden Tulip Hotel -Kampala.

This journey has been transformative for our organisation. Through the mentorship and technical support provided, GNH strengthened its capacity to integrate Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) into proposal development, improve and operationalise Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), and enhance our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accountability.

We are honoured to have received a Certificate of Recognition together with other graduating partners for completing this important program.
AAP is about listening to communities, explaining our actions, and responding to their feedback, ensuring that programs are people-centred and resources deliver meaningful impact with dignity. We are proud to graduate alongside partners including Community Empowerment Network (CENET), Community Empowerment for Creative Innovation (CECI) Uganda, Live in Green, Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Development Network (SARD-Net), and Youths Empowerment for Self-Reliance (YEFOSR).

We extend our sincere appreciation to U-Learn Uganda, implemented by the Response Innovation Lab (hosted by Save the Children), the International Rescue Committee (IRC), and IMPACT Initiatives, with principal funding from the UK Government through the British High Commission in Uganda, for their leadership and commitment to strengthening accountability across Uganda’s refugee response.

At Grapes of New Hope, this graduation is not the end of the journey. We are committed to implementing strong AAP practices on the ground and supporting other community-based organizations to adopt accountability systems, so that together we ensure that the voices of the people we serve remain at the centre of humanitarian and development action
